COVID-19 Updates

March 2022 Update

The CDC announced in March 2022 that mask use is optional, for low and medium risk levels based on community cases.  Due to Stearns county being in the medium risk level at this current time, mask use is optional while in the office setting.

August 2021 Update

The CDC and Minnesota Department of Health announced Thursday, August 2, 2021 that mask use is recommended, for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals, in public, indoor settings.

May 2021 Update

The CDC announced Thursday, May 13, 2021 that masks are no longer required for fully-vaccinated individuals, either indoors or outside. Per CDC and MDH guidelines, masks are no longer required in our office if you are vaccinated for COVID-19. We encourage mask use if you are not vaccinated or if it is your personal preference to do so.

July 2020 Update

As of July 25, 2020, per Governor Walz's Executive Order 20-81, people are required to wear face coverings in all indoor businesses and public indoor spaces. If you are attending sessions in the office, you must wear a face covering while sitting in the waiting room.

June 2020 Update

In response to the shelter-in-place order ending on May 18th, Center for Psychological Services will be altering it's policy on in-office appointments beginning June 1st.  A COVID-19 Preparedness Plan has been established. Due to there still being so many unknowns about how to protect oneself against contracting COVID-19 in public places, we are advising that all clients continue with teletherapy sessions for the time being if it is meeting their therapeutic needs. However, if an in-office visit is determined by you and your individual therapist to be more beneficial, this will be discussed and arranged between you and your therapist, taking into account the comfort level and needs of both parties. Clients will also be required to sign an informed consent agreement for in-person services

If and when you do return to the office for in-person sessions, the follow steps will be taken in order to reduce risk:

  • Waiting room and commonly touched surfaces will be sanitized regularly.
  • Appointment times will be staggered in order to reduce waiting room encounters.
  • Appointments and payments will be made directly with your therapist at the end of the session or by phone with office staff.
  • Offices will be sanitized between client appointments.
  • When possible, office seating will be adjusted to provide a 6-ft distance between you and your therapist.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided in the waiting room and therapist offices, if available.
  • An air purifier will control air flow in the waiting room but may not be controlled through the office suite.

There are things that you as clients can do to take precautions, which will keep the office environment safer and reduce the risk of transmission of disease:

  • Please do not come to the office if you have any symptoms of illness or have been in contact with someone who is ill.
  • Complete and submit all necessary paperwork before your appointment.
  • Wait in your car or outside until the time of your appointment.
  • Arrive to your appointment without guests unless previously arranged with your therapist.
  • Adhere to the safe distancing precautions set up in the waiting room and therapy rooms.
  • Wear a mask in the waiting room.
  • Refrain from using the bathroom at Center for Psychological Services, unless it is urgent. The bathrooms remain open, but we do not manage them or have any control over when and how they are cleaned.

Again, unless you have made arrangements with your individual therapist, we will assume that all appointments will be conducted through a teletherapy format at this time. Thank you for your flexibility, patience, and support as we work to continue to offer services in the best manner possible. We look forward to slowly and safely increasing our ability to welcome clients back into the office in the coming months.

March 2020 Update

Center for Psychological Services plans to follow the CDC and state/local officials’ recommendations regarding safeguarding against COVID-19. After 3/23/2020, therapy sessions will be conducted until further notice, through a Telehealth format, unless other arrangements have been coordinated with your provider. For additional information, please check out the Telehealth Policy and Procedures in the Forms section. At your appointment time, please click on the link for your therapist's virtual waiting room, located on the home page.
